Last Friday was an awesome day. I got to hang out with my sister Emily who was visiting from San Francisco, then we met up with our brothers to go ice skating. Being Canadian we start 'em young, It was so cute to watch little Max try to skate for the first time. Emily and Ben were sweet and took him around the whole rink holding his hands.  I tried to get Jack to stand on the ice in his little skates but he would have none of it. But it was worth it just to see how tiny skates they have.

In the evening my brothers wife joined us along with my mom. We got The Pie pizza(the best) and hung out playing Apples to Apples, which with my family playing games involves a lot of laughing and joke making. It turned out to be such a fun night with everyone. We don't get together nearly enough.

My Aunt Ginny's

Before Emily left us for San Francisco, her, my mom, and I and the boys went up to my Aunt Ginny's in Wellsville, UT. It is so pretty up there and Ginny always feeds us a hardy meal. She even had a late Birthday present for Max and an early one for Jack, that won Max over. Max also loved the horses, and petted one for the first time. Emily and I frolicked around and made flower crowns. It was such a nice visit. I forget how beautiful Utah is sometimes.

my dear sweet little sister Emily is leaving me, for San Francisco. her boyfriend got a job out there and since they like each other and all she is going with him. she broke the news to me when she picked me up to go spend the day with her to go shopping. 

I am so happy for her and it is very exciting, she also gets to be by our other sister who lives out there. but i am going to miss her very much. not that we get to spend a lot of time together because of different things but when we do we have the best of times. 

so when she picked me up we headed to city creek downtown and had such a fun time shopping together and having time to talk. after we finished there we went to whole foods in trolley square to get some dinner. then Emily wanted to take Max to a park she knew of up by the UofU. Max loved it and Emily took some awesome pictures while we were there. Jack also swung in his first playground swing.

 

 

 

Max was obsessed with that bike as soon as he saw a little girl ride into the park with it. he just kept walking towards it with his hands behind his back like in the picture. the parents were nice enough to let Max ride it for a bit. i guess he really needs a bike of his own.

Auntie Em

My sister Emily came over to my house Thursday with my mom to make me a yummy vegetarian stew(my mom is so sweet). I love seeing Emily and don't see her nearly enough, She only lives in downtown Salt Lake so like 15min away but she is always so busy with school and work. I say poop on that. I want to start hanging out with her more when she gets her break from school, I have lots of plans for us. And Max thinks she is the coolest.

Arriving in Utah

We flew into Utah on Tuesday the 21st of December. When we got here I realized I forgot how cold it gets.

We went to claim our luggage and Max's car seat was missing. So we had to borrow one from Southwest. Which wasn't to bad, and we got to pick it up for a $50 travel voucher :).

So when we got there we stopped by Mason's parents to say hello and then met up with my sister Emily and our friend Lindsay, for Lindsay's birthday brunch. We were going to go to Eggs in the City but didn't realize they closed at 2pm(it was a very late brunch). So Emily suggested Blue Plate Diner. It was all very yummy and a fun place, to bad I didn't take any pictures.

After that we headed up to my moms house. She does Raw Food for a family in Park City so Emily helped her out with that while we hung out and talked. It was a very nice first day.

Baby Shower

Mason and I went to Utah for New years this year. We drove out on Thursday the 31st with his parents and spent New Years Eve with my mom. On Saturday my sister Emily and my brother Ben threw me the funnest baby shower. It was so sweet of them. Ben made the small lunch which consisted of Bruschetta, potato finger things with goat cheese, and Parmesan crisps, it was all very delicious. Then for dessert he did small round brownies with cream cheese frosting on top with raspberries and raspberry sauce. We played three games and just talked and laughed and caught up since most of us had not seen each other for awhile. Then I opened all the wonderful gifts. It was nice to also spend time with Masons family and our two cute neices on Saturday evening and Sunday. Mason and I flew home on Sunday, it was a short trip but we made the most of it.
