an outing

 

 

my dear sweet little sister Emily is leaving me, for San Francisco. her boyfriend got a job out there and since they like each other and all she is going with him. she broke the news to me when she picked me up to go spend the day with her to go shopping. 

I am so happy for her and it is very exciting, she also gets to be by our other sister who lives out there. but i am going to miss her very much. not that we get to spend a lot of time together because of different things but when we do we have the best of times. 

so when she picked me up we headed to city creek downtown and had such a fun time shopping together and having time to talk. after we finished there we went to whole foods in trolley square to get some dinner. then Emily wanted to take Max to a park she knew of up by the UofU. Max loved it and Emily took some awesome pictures while we were there. Jack also swung in his first playground swing.

 

 

 

Max was obsessed with that bike as soon as he saw a little girl ride into the park with it. he just kept walking towards it with his hands behind his back like in the picture. the parents were nice enough to let Max ride it for a bit. i guess he really needs a bike of his own.

A day at the park

Yesterday was such a beautiful day(but very windy) so we decided to make our first trip of the year to the park.
I feel bad I don't take Max to the park as much as I should but now with Jack being older and the weather getting nicer I am going to try and take him often.
Mason was sweet and sat by the stroller while Jack slept in it. Since Max has not been to many parks he was so funny, he was so nervous to walk on the playground where you can see through the little holes on the platforms. So he would crawl everywhere or want me to hold his hand. It was so cute though how he would get kind of scared and say to me "scawy". He got more and more brave though and at the end went down the big twisty slide all by himself(on his belly)!
He was very sad to leave but I told him to say goodbye to the park and that we would be back soon.
By the time we got home he was sound asleep in the stroller, so I carried him up to his bed for a nap. What a great end to a nice trip to the park.
It was so nice to get out in the sun and only be wearing a light jacket.

At the park

Today is such a beautiful day here in California so I decided to take Max out. So we took a walk to our nearby park.
He got to play in the sand for the first time and we swung while he watched the other kids play.

He was fascinated by the sand and loved rubbing it in his hands.

After we played in the park, I laid out a blanket under a tree and we ate snacks, played the harmonica, and read books.
Max loves to put his fingers in the holes in "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". And eat the books.

We enjoyed some yummy snacks. And took in all the beautiful colours of the trees.

And then Max discovered my lens cap to my camera, and tried to eat it.

The trees around here are so pretty and so many different colours. That is one thing I love about living in California we get fall all winter pretty much. We can go to Utah and enjoy the snow but after we get to come back home and enjoy this:
