Leon is 1 month old!

On July 20th my Leon turned one month old. It really is crazy how quickly babies grow and change in a month, especially the third baby. Leon is our littlest baby so far, he still fits into all of his newborn clothes and diapers. But he is gaining that cute baby chub, at least chub by his standards. He is a good eater but has gotten a little more fussy with gas problems :(.
He is such a little happy guy in between sleeping, eating, and fussing. He has started to smile and I can tell he is trying to make noises back to us when we talk to him. He loves his binky and his brothers, they love it when he smiles at them or even looks at them.
We sure do love this tiny guy of ours!

Leon Timothy

Leon Timothy
June 20th, 2014
 10:41pm
6lbs 10oz
20inches long

At my 40week appointment when my doctor went to check Leon's heartbeat it sounded different, slower. Just when I was about to ask if that was ok my doctor said "that's a little too slow, I am going to send you downstairs just to be safe". His heartbeat was at 100bpm when it is usually at 135bpm. Mason and I were both scared for our little guy and just wanted to make sure everything was ok. So we went down to Labor and Delivery to monitor his heart and check the amniotic fluid. After being monitored for an hour everything checked out fine and his heart rate came back up and the fluid looked good. After that scare my doctor sent us in for non stress tests every other day, where I get hooked up to monitor his heart for a half an hour. We did the first one the following day and he looked great the whole time. We went back on Friday the 20th and they noticed when I would have a small contraction Leon's heart rate would drop. So the nurse called my doctor, she came right in and talked to us and explained that our best option was to head down to labor and delivery and get induced. Because his heart rate would drop with a contraction she worried going longer he may not be able to handle the stress of delivery.
We were excited/nervous and just wanted everything to be ok with our little Leon. I got all checked in and they started me on Pitocin at around 5:00pm. After about an hour the doctor came and broke my water
I had already decided to go natural like I did with both Max and Jack, being induced was different and a lot harder with my water broken because it made the contractions more intense. I wanted the nurse to check me because the contractions were getting really intense, I was only at a 5. It was frustrating but a moved to my other side during a bad contraction and felt a lot of pressure and then the contraction were one on top of another, the nurse(she was awesome) checked me and I was at a 8! I was so relieved to hear that. I asked if  I could start pushing because it just kept getting more and more intense but the nurse said "I don't want to catch a baby!" The doctor showed up quickly and when I asked her if I could push she said go ahead, two pushes and there was our handsome little Leon! The cord was wrapped around his neck twice and then over his shoulder and around his waist. So that explained the whole heart rate dropping, and it was so good I got induced so he didn't get any bigger with that cord like that. When they put him on my chest I couldn't believe how tiny he was.
I just felt so lucky, happy, and relieved to have my sweet baby boy in my arms FINALLY!

We love you our little Leon baby.

Easter Weekend: Sunday

The boys woke up Easter morning to a trail of Easter eggs left by the Easter bunny, they followed it down the stairs out to the front porch to where their baskets were. They got the Octonauts submarine to share. They always have a treat, book, and new shirt in their Easter baskets and a new movie to share. This year their new movie was Ponyo, one of their favorites lately.

After finding their baskets we had our traditional breakfast of scones.
We usually do a big Easter family dinner at Mason's parents but since they were out of town this year we decided to be fun and take the kids to dinner and a movie. We saw Mr. Peabody And Sherman, which was better then I thought it would be and the kids sat through the whole thing and were really into it.
It ended up being such a fun fmaily weekend.

Easter weekend: Saturday

We started off our Easter weekend early with our city's Easter egg hunt. They had 6 different sections for different age groups so that made it really nice for the little kids. Max and Jack got plenty of little candy and we got to meet the Easter Bunny. Mason's sister and her husband met up with us at the egg hunt and then we killed some time on a near by playground before heading to lunch at Cafe Rio.
Max had his first soccer game after lunch. He was so excited but once the game started he said he was nervous and didn't want to play. We didn't want to push him so we just talked to him about why he was nervous and said he could go in to play whenever  he wanted. He finally let his Aunt Tresa go in with him holding his hand and he was so cute kicking the ball. He sat back down but went in for the last kick.

For dinner we went up Millcreek Canyon to do a camp fire and tin foil dinners. We went up with Tresa and Eric and the three dogs(Mason's parents two little ones and Tresa's big golden retriever). Max and Jack thought it was the coolest thing, having a fire, cooking their own hot dogs, and roasting marshmallows. After we finished eating and hanging around the fire we went over to the river to throw rocks in. It was such a nice evening and we decided we needed to do more outdoor stuff like that as a family.

Jack makes the craziest faces lately when I tell him to smile,
the one below he is making is his classic cross eyed crazy kid face.
Super smokey but the only family picture from that night.
Max was more interested in roasting the marshmallows then actually eating the s'mores

Tresa and Eric's reception

At the end of March Tresa and Eric had their reception for family and friends. It was a fun night with a crepe bar that we took full advantage of :). Max and Jack also had a fun time running around with their second cousins.

Tresa and Eric's Wedding

Back in March Mason's sister got married! It was so fun to be apart of her day. Her and her husband, Eric are both shy so it was just immediate family at the wedding and a luncheon together. Then they left for their honeymoon that afternoon.
I got to take all her wedding day pictures which was pretty fun, not that I claim in any way to be a professional or even close but it was a fun opportunity.

Congratulation again to Tresa and Eric!
