Chocolate Test

[Of course we had to do a smell test for each one]

Saturday night (the night before Easter) Mason and I made a last minute run to Target to get the rest of the kids Easter things. Mason was looking at the chocolate trying to decide which one was the best so he decided to get 4 different milk chocolate bars for us to test and determine which was the best out of the four. It turned out to be a weirdly fun night, just Mason and I smelling, tasting, and rating chocolate. So here is the system we did:

We tried four different kinds, Dove, Cadbury, Milka, and Lindtt, all Milk Chocolate. We rated them each from 1-10, 1 being gross and 10 being best ever, in five different categories: Smell, Creamness, Milky, Texture, Flavor/Happy feeling. And the overall winner:

GUITTARD!

Yes it was not part of the test but after trying all of them we went with Milka but would much rather have a bag of Guittard milk chocolate chips over any of the chocolate bars we tested.

I love that Mason just randomly wanted to do this, and of course I had to draw the rating sheets and everything, and do a blog post about it :).

My Birthday

Link
I turned 25 September 30th. last Friday. I love my birthday because Mason always goes out of his way to make it so special. Like my first birthday I had while we were together(my 21st) he got me an ipod and took me to Tavern on the Green for dinner...yeah I am lucky.

And every year he makes me breakfast in bed, my choice. This year I chose waffles with strawberries. It was so good even though a little Max child ate most of my strawberries...but he was so cute doing it pointing to each one and saying "yeah?". Then we headed to my choice for lunch Kneaders, I love their veggie avocado on focaccia bread(extra kneaders sauce).

Later on we dropped off Max at Mason's sisters, we are so lucky we have her. It was so nice to have the evening to ourselves(and Jack). We went to dinner at Tsunami and it was delicious. then we headed to a movie. We had bought tickets for Drive but when we went to hand the tickets to the lady taking them she informed us no children under 10 were aloud in rated R movies after 6pm. So we looked to see what movie we could catch before 9 and decided on The Help. I had read the book so I was excited to see it, plus I like Emma Stone. It was good and Jack was so great during it, not one peep. I just had to feed him once, but it was nice because we had the whole front section to ourselves.

So another wonderful birthday over, till next year.

Our two year anniversary!

On May 23rd 2009 I married the man of my dreams. Cheesy? fine, but true.
I love Mason so much. He and I get along so well and he is always so sweet and loving. He is such an awesome dad to Max. He always makes sure I have the best Birthdays, Mothers Day's, and any other special day he always goes out of his way to make it extra special.
I love that we get each others jokes and have the same sense of humor.
I love my Mason and feel SOOOO lucky he is mine.
So onto what we did for our 2nd anniversary. We started our day off with homemade scones, which turned out to be delicious! Then we dropped Max off with his aunt Lexi and headed to lunch. We went to a really good authentic Venezuelan restaurant. Mason live din Venezuela for 2 years so he knew the good stuff. But when we ordered our fried fish we did not expect to get a WHOLE fried fish. Yeah it was pretty creepy. But all the food was so good! And Mason got his soda he loved when he was there. Next stop was miniature golf at Hollywood Connection. We wanted to go because that is where he took me on our very first date. It was so fun to relive it a bit and have fun just the two of us.
Then we went and saw Thor in 3D. Then after taking Max home he went to bed at 7:30! It was so nice to have a night with Mason.
It turned out to be a wonderful day.

My Birthday Weekend: Part 3 Los Angeles Zoo

For Sunday we planned do go to the Los Angeles Zoo. We had a leisurely morning and then headed out into the HEAT. It was a hot day, but we still had fun looking at all the animals. The LA Zoo is not that great of a Zoo but it was fun. We tried to get Max to look at all the animals but he was more interested in the plants in front of the animal cages. He was cute though babbling and at one point watching the monkeys.

The gorillas were my favorite, they are just so fascinating to me. We had a little early dinner at the Zoo, checked out the last of the animals before they closed and then headed home. And that was the end to my WONDERFUL Birthday weekend extravaganza festival of fun... :)

Very excited...

Getting his diaper changed outside since the family bathroom was not very clean and had ants.

I love them

My Birthday Weekend: Part 1

My Birthday started on Thursday September 30th which is the day of my birth. Mason got the two days off to spend with me. I woke up to breakfast in bed made by Mason that consisted of scrambled eggs, Chocolate chip pancakes, and some really yummy Vegan bacon Mason made the night before. I also got my gifts from him, some really really nice headphones and a game for the PSP we have, and then a king size twix. On my birthday Mason, Me, Max, and Tresa(Mason's sister) headed out to the Getty Center. It is such a cool museum, awesome architecture and some cool pieces of art. They also have a photography exhibit which was very cool and interesting. Max was tired at the beginning but once he had a short nap in the stroller he seemed to enjoy looking around at the art. We had a really good lunch at the cafe there and then walked around some more. Then we finished off the day with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory!

On Friday we all went to the Getty Villa in Malibu. It is so pretty there and really relaxing walking around with all the gardens and fountains.

But before we headed out there we had to take Max in for his six month check up, which went good except for the whole shots part. I hate when he has to get shots, so he was a little cranky during the Getty Villa but he did do very well considering he wasn't feeling great. A little Tylenol helped though.

The art at the Villa was all Roman and Greek and had some of the oldest pieces dating back to about 6,000 B.C.! One of the coolest pieces I thought was a gold leafed head piece that they used to give out for athletic competitions but because this specific one was so delicate they assumed it was probably from a funeral. It was so neat looking I wish I would have taken a picture.
