Dear Santa

I have seen on almost every blog their Christmas wish lists for kids or themselves, so I decided to make one. But this one is what my kids really want for Christmas. I see all the other list of beautiful wooden toys and hand knitted sweaters, I wish my kids wanted those kind of things. But this is what I got them and what they have been asking for(at least Max). I am trying to not get just "stuff" but things they either really want, need, or that will last. Every time anyone asks Max what he wants for Christmas he says, Jake and the Neverland pirates ship! So that is what Santa is bringing him. Along with a toy phone he has been wanting for awhile. And a new movie is always fun.
For Jack I wanted to get something that makes him smile. Every time he see's anything with Kermit on it he smiles and points to him. He also loves the new Muppet's Movie. So "Santa" got him Kermit and Walter. He is also our book lover so I got him a few fun board books for his stocking. He also loves to walk around with things and anything that makes noise so the corn popper walker seemed like a fun thing. As for the wooden Giraffe(we got max a dinosaur one) I do love wood toys and I thought this seemed like a fun one that moves in all different ways.

Max's list: 1.Arthur Christmas 2. Jake's Pirate Ship 3. Captain Hook's Ship 4. Play Phone 5. Shaun White shirt for Target
Jacks' List: 1. Cherokee shirt from Target 2. Walter 3. Peek-a-Who Book 4.Wood Giraffe 5. Kermit 6. Popper

Christmas is coming!

We are all decorated for Christmas and I brought out the Christmas books! Jack loves flipping through them and making funny expressions while doing so.
We got a fake tree from Target this year to last us awhile, I love how real it looks. I grew up with real trees but Mason and I decided fake was best for us. And after reading all the stories on Instagram and other blogs about spiders and other bugs being found in their trees I feel pretty good about our choice.
We have our chain countdown to Christmas and our Chocolate advent calenders. Max and I have already made sugar cookies together and built a gingerbread house.  I also try to keep Christmas music going all day to make it feel cozy and more like the Christmas season. And now that it has been snowing for the past 2 days it makes it feel extra Christmas-y.

And here is Max sleeping for 4 hours after waking up at 3am not being able to sleep. Mason had insomnia so they had a rough night together.

My favorite decoration I got this year, a sparkly church that lights up. Reminds me of the old ones my mom had from her Grandmother growing up.

We have started the tradition of letting the kids get a new ornament every year, I love it. And of course we get them their first Christmas one.
I can't wait till Christmas, it really is extra special with kids.
I don't know how to end this so...HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM US TO YOU!

New Camera! {and tons of pictures}

I have awesome in laws. For Christmas they got Mason and I a Canon Rebel T3i! I have wanted this camera for so long and I can't believe I actually have it now.
We got it early so we could use it for family pictures and Christmas stuff.
As soon as it came yesterday I couldn't wait for the battery to charge it was killing me. So as soon as it was ready I took a ton of pictures...and here they are.

Max was pretending the tripod we got with the camera was a gun, everything is a gun now to him. He doesn't even have any toy guns except one Nerf one...I guess its just a boy thing? Above he is showing me his bullet aka a piece of plastic he found. He has a great imagination.

there he is "shooting"

Breakfast! I was so excited to take pictures this morning when I actually had natural light.

He was not happy to pose for me because his pants
were a little wet from water from his sippy cup.

silly Maximus

Haha, I love this kid he has THEE best faces.

and one of me that Mason took, with my greasy hair-do. And my sweet sleeping Jackamo.

I feel like I have a lot of learning to do, like how to change settings and what to do in certain lighting, etc. But so far I am just practicing and having fun and it makes me feel so cool to get such good looking pictures with such little effort.

SNOW!

Last week we got a ton of snow here in Utah. Max wanted to go outside so bad, So I bundled him up(a little to much, or so he told me) and let him walk in the snow. He thought it was cool for about 5 min. and then his gloves were soaked.

Halloween 2012

Halloween this year turned out really fun. Max was a cowboy and so was Mason, I was a last minute Pirate, and Jack was a chicken. We took the kids Trick-or-Treating in Mason's Parents neighborhood. They got plenty of candy and since only about 10 kids showed up at our house we have way to many suckers leftover. One thing that did not get done was watching Hocus Pocus, I mean is it really Halloween if you don't watch Hocus Pocus?
