December Leon

Baby Leon in December before Christmas, just being super cute as always.

Thanksgiving 2014

One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving day was hanging out in the morning watching the Macy's parade and making pies with Mason. We made a super delicious berry pie from scratch, it ended up being the most popular. We also made an easy pumpkin pie and a apple pie.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Mason's family last year. It was a little hard because I still couldn't do dairy and most stuff had it in it :(. But I figured it out and we had a nice time with family.
our nieces made these cute place cards for everyone
Max would only do silly faces...

Mason turns 32!

the day before Mason's Birthday I took the boys to pick up a razzleberry pie for him and Max was proud carrying it all by himself to the car.
We invited our friends over for the pie and ice cream. It was a fun low key night.
I feel so lucky to have this amazing, handsome man by my side. Happy 32 my Mason! (Back on November 8th)

Leon's first food

Leon tried his first food at almost 5 months of  baby oatmeal, very diluted from my breast milk. He was not so sure about it. Fast forward to  now, he is 8 months and eating a lot more. I love the faces babies make when trying food for the first time.

Halloween 2014

Halloween was awesome last year, Max went as Indiana Jones and Mason went as Dr.Henry Jones Sr., and Jack as Hulk. We Trick-or-Treated around our neighborhood with our neighbors and friends. The kids had a blast and got TONS of candy. It was a very successful night.
Baby Bat Leon, he slept the entire time in the carrier.
The loot!

Also to note, Halloween night Max and I both came down with a horrible virus that made us throw up all night and morning. Mason had gone through it the week before, but he took such good care of us (and Jack and Leon) while I was dying from the most horrible sickness I have ever had. Not the greatest way to end Halloween but hey, what do ya do?

Lake Powell 2014

relaxing early mornings with a warm cup of coffee
Back in October we went to Lake Powell. Mason and I drove down with the kids and met his parents down there. Mason's brother Palmer and a few of his friends were there for the first half of the week with us and then it was just us and his parents. It was chilly and to cold to go swimming in the water, so we tried to entertain the kids on the beach and with games and activities. It was still so nice and relaxing being away from everything but a lot chillier then we are used to at Lake Powell. I don't think we will ever go again so late in the season but it was fun to experience it at least once. We ended up leaving early and stopping on the way home at a motel. It had a pool and Mason swam with Max and Jack, that was the highlight of the trip for them!
 Grandma kisses!
These ducks came around the houseboat every morning and the boys loved throwing them food.

Mason's brother and his friends set up a zip line from the rocks and would go across and jump in the water.

Cookies!

When Leon was only 2 months old we noticed he was having a reaction to something in my milk, as to not give all the yucky poopy details we found out he was having problems with me eating anything with dairy. He was not able to digest the casing in dairy and so it would hurt his tummy and make him have a sore bum and painful poops. We were glad to find out it was something as simple as just me needing to stop eating anything with dairy in it. He had also been so fussy up until we found out this dairy thing and after I changed my diet he changed so quickly to a happy baby. It goes away in babies at around 6-9 months and almost always at a year(I have just now started slowly letting myself eat a few things with dairy ingredients to see how it goes since Leon is now 8 months).
So cookies, yes I love cookies and it was a little hard at first trying to find any sweet treats  and dinners without any dairy in them. So my awesome sweet husband Mason looked up a good cookie recipe and started making me batches of cookies almost every week or even twice a week. He just uses a dairy free butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips and shazam! dairy free cookies! He has become quite the expert on the perfect cookie. He just started making oatmeal chocolate chip ones, and Oh my goodness they are delicious. The boys also love having fresh cookies around all of the time, so win win.

My 28th Birthday!

The boys having a tea party
For my Birthday Mason took us all out to breakfast at Village Inn and then we headed to The Museum of Natural Curosity as per my request. It was so fun! The kids loved it and I love going to awesome new children museums. For dinner I invited our friends over with their two cute kids. We had some delicious BBQ steak kabobs made by Mason and my mom and sister brought the yummy cake! It turned out to be such a fun night. Happy Birthday to me!(last September)
