Jack's 1st Birthday Party

 

For Jack's first Birthday I decided to do a circus theme. We had face painting, a pinata, clown noses, and lollypops. It turned out really fun and luckily the weather was nice. We had it at a park near us and I think the playground helped keep the kids busy, they were also really into the face painting. 

I was so glad everything went smoothly and Jack seemed to have a good time. :)

Catch up

 

I have not blogged in forever and I think I need to catch up on what has been going on.   First off these two cuties of mine having been growing so fast. Jack is walking everywhere and climbing on everything. Max is talking so much and is in the "why?" to everything phase. I was going crazy trying to pack up to move, we moved (with LOTS of help from Family) and we are slowly getting settled.

My dad came down from Ontario, Canada to visit back in August with his wife. We had a really nice visit while they were here. I can't wait till we can make it up there.

Jack got his first haircut, because Mason(and I) thought he was looking a bit like an old man with his long hair right by his ears and no where else. I am always a little sad cutting my babies first locks of hair but I have to admit it did turn out better.

And my Jackamo turned 1! I will write another post on his Birthday Party, but for his actual Birthday he got a Woody doll from Mason and I and spoiled by family. And we went to Bonsai for his Birthday dinner.

My boy's are so lucky to have my mom as their Nonna, she loves them so much.

And she is always up for a game on the iPad, which makes Max think she is the coolest.

Last Thursday we went to our local Library to celebrate their 100 years Birthday. They had a great magician there for the event, it was so awesome to watch the kids react to his jokes.  Jack even found him funny enough to laugh.

While I waited in line for things with Max, Mason took Jack inside the library. Mason said when they walked in and Jack saw all the book he got so excited and wanted to get down to grab them, I hope his love for books lasts. He loves to pull out all the books at home and "read them" its very cute. Anyway back to our evening:

Max was very excited to go in the bounce house but when it was finally his turn he held on to my neck saying "you come in mommy, you come in" I told him I wasn't aloud in but that I would watch him and he slowly let go and started bouncing and ended up loving it. I also went down with him on a huge blow up slide. They also had free snow cones, the line was forever long but we decided in the end to just do it and Max and Jack seemed very grateful that we did, it was both of their first times having one and they thought it was pretty cool.

Near the end the fire station came and sprayed their hose over everyone, we decided to watch from a distance. I love when there is free local things to do.

   

Grand Cayman Islands: the end (part 3)

 

The next day after the wedding we relaxed, fed the fish off the dock, built sand castles, and swam. On Sunday we headed out to the Pirate Caves. The Cayman Islands were a main hub for pirates to stay and stash their loot. They have found lots of buried dubloons back from when the pirates were on the island. Max was so excited to see the pirate caves. 

When we got there it was so very hot but we tried to ignore it and keep Max and Jack hydrated. The place where the actual pirate caves are has a little shop and then is also a place where they keep animals. So before we went down in the cave we were shown around by the best tour guide, he was the owners son and was only about 12. He was so good at telling us things about the animals. 

There was an actual grave in the cave but they don't know who is buried there but on the coffin it says "We Are" kinda creepy and cool. When our little tour guide took us down in the cave he said we could go farther in but we would have to crawl. Mason and I opted out but Mason's dad, brother, sister, and her fiance decided to crawl further in to the cave. 

They came out muddy and with treasure in hand. They were aloud to dig for things and found an old coke can and some big bones. The owner said the bones were probably from boars that used to live in the caves.

The last night we were there we all sat around and had dinner together and talked for awhile. while we were at dinner Mason's uncle found a crab and picked it up to show all the kids. It was a good way to end such an amazing vacation.
