Maximus is 1!

We had a party for Max on Saturday before his Birthday. We did it at Mason's parents and just had a few friends over and family. Max was so happy the whole time I loved it.
We had a sandwich bar so everyone with their different diets would each have something for them. Mason and I decided to get a vegan cake since we like doing vegan when we can and a few vegans would be attending. We got it from Cake Walk in Salt lake and it turned out really yummy.
We did a dinosaur theme since that is one thing Max seems to take an interest in. It was so fun and relaxing. It went smoother then I thought.

And now there is no going back

On his Birthday, which is March 17th, yep St. Patrick's Day. He woke up to his present from Mason and I. We got him a Buzz Lightyear action figure. He was so happy when he saw the packaging, it was very cute. Then for breakfast we gave him mini waffles with a candle on top.
I love that smile
Then for his Birthday dinner we went out with family to The Mayan restaurant. I thought he would like all the cool things to touch and the waterfall and divers. And he loved it. He loved going around the waiting area and looking in all the big jugs. And he loved the water. The food was ok but the fun time with everyone was worth it. Then Max got sung "Happy Birthday" by us and our waiter.
It was a wonderful night and a good way to celebrate our 1 year old!
Before putting Max to bed I made sure to get in all the 'Happy Birthday's' I could.

Surprise!

I am pregnant!
I am now almost 13 weeks along and due September 27th. It was a big surprise to us but we are SO excited and glad Maximus gets a little brother or sister.

{at 10 weeks}

now for the story:
When we got back from Utah in January after our nice long Christmas vacation with family I started feeling nauseous pretty much every morning. I thought it was maybe stress from getting ready to move to Utah. But then a week before we moved I threw up in the morning. Mason and I both looked at each other and thought the same thing, I wasn't pregnant, was I? So we went and got some pregnancy tests and sure enough it was positive, then I took another one, positive. Then just to be sure the next morning I took a third test, positive again. So Mason and I said, we can do this. I was nervous at first thinking of Max and how he would be a older brother at 18 months but then I got excited and happy that they will be close. So now Mason and I are just filled with excitement for this new little sweet baby to be apart of our family.

We got to hear the heartbeat last Friday and it is one of the best things. It made me feel more connected to this little cutie. I can't wait till we get to see our little baby on the ultrasound or when I feel the movements inside my belly.

Nectarines

Max loves fruit and especially sharing a sweet, juicy, nectarine with daddy.
And daddy loves sharing with his Maximus.

Oh I love those chunky legs! Not as chunky as they used to be though...

A Sweet Story

Yesterday after I put Max down for his second nap of the day I decided to relax. I made myself some toast and put on Terms of Endearment, which I knew would make me bawl but I was in the mood for a good movie.
About half an hour into it Max woke up. So I brought him downstairs and played with him as I watched the movie. He would crawl down the hall and look back at me to make sure I was going to chase after him. then try to crawl faster and scream and laugh as I came after him.
Near the end of the movie, of course I started crying. If you haven't seen it be prepared. As I sat there on the floor crying wiping my tears with a tissue, Max crawled up onto my lap, grabbed the tissue and started wiping my eyes for me. Then he leaned in and gave me a big opened mouth kiss on the lips, then continued to wipe my eyes. It was the sweetest thing in the world.
So thank you my sweet Maximus for taking care of me so well.

11 months

Max turned 11 months last Thursday, I can't believe he is going to be 1 year old next month! My little baby is getting so big. He is so sweet and fun. Here are things Max does at 11 months:

-He loves to point, if anyone says "Hi" to him he points at something.

-He loves lights and fans. Whenever he see's one he points and goes "oooo"

-He still loves his bath time. When I start filling up the tub he stands by and screams with joy.

-He loves his daddy and his mommy. He gets so excited when daddy comes home from work he crawls right to him(we are still working on the walking thing although he is a great stander).

-He loves to say "dadada" "daddy" and wine for "mum-mummy"

-He gives the sweetest kisses, big open mouthed. He will even just do it without being asked and lean into me for a kiss, I LOVE it :D.

-He loves music and will bounce his bum to it. He especially loves Incubus, what can I say he is his daddy's son.

-He loves when mommy brushes his teeth and gets excited for it.

-He does the cutest little "ahhhhhh..." when we spin him or when he is playing with his toys.

-He does not like baby food anymore, he wants whatever we are eating or food chopped up for him to feed himself.

-He loves teething biscuits and so do I, they keep him busy for awhile.

-He loves going to Grandma and Grandpas, he loves the dogs and their little kitchen play set. He will sit for awhile opening and shutting the doors and putting things in them.

-He already has a secret hiding spot. In the wooden cradle in his room under his big teddy bear, I found lots of puzzle and train set pieces. I see him go over to it and take things out and look at them then put them back.

I love my little cute bum so much and am so excited to watch him grow and learn more. I feel so lucky to have gotten such a sweet, handsome, cute boy.
I love you my Maximus!!

New shoes for Max and a space for me

On Saturday Mason and I headed out to Ikea for lunch and some shopping. We went to get me a desk where I can do all my projects and painting and stuff. SO we enjoyed a yummy lunch and then found me the perfect desk and chair, well we got two desks and put them together so I would have more space. so at the end of our shopping Mason went to get the car for Max and I. Then I got a call that our back right tire was completely flat. Thank goodness for family so close, Mason's parents came to our rescue. We changed to a spare and drove to a car shop.
So on Sunday we took it in for them to finish some things up, and to pass the time we walked around the mall. We figure Max needs some shoes for when he starts walking around this summer so we got him a couple of pairs to start him out...He has such chubby wide feet we had to go with the wider skater shoes.
He looks so adorable in them, but is still not so sure of them.

And now I present my work space...

I love it so much I have all my things within reach. It is up in our loft in our master bedroom. We also have the desktop computer and desk all set up and Mason's music stuff, AND a mini fridge with yummy stuff soon to be in it. Poor Mason got 5 blisters from putting the legs on both desks, all because he loves me :).
