Visitors

Mason's mom and Jack
During my stay in the hospital it was so nice to have family drop by. We had Mason's mom there for the birth, along with my mom and sister Emily. Later in the day Mason's sister came to see us with Max and Mason's cousin that was visiting from Iowa. Max didn't care much about the baby but he loved when he realized the cradle Jack was in could roll. I think Max was just confused. That night Emily came back with her boyfriend Colin. We are so lucky for Mason's family who watched Max all day that day and half of the next day. I got to go home early cause everything checked out fine. It was so nice to only have to spend one night in the hospital.

Jack's Birth

Link
Monday night(August 29th) after enjoying a wonderful dinner with Mason's family at The Spaghetti Factory, Mason and I put Max to bed. After watching our nighty dose of Mad Men we went to bed. I woke up to mild contractions at 2am, Mason and I started keeping track of them. At 3:30am we decided to start calling family. Mason's dad came over to watch Max and Mason's mom met us at the hospital, along with my sister Emily and my mom. I got checked in and was having pretty strong contractions about 5 min apart. They decided to admit me at about 8am. I loved all my nurses especially the last one while I was giving birth she was awesome. They broke my water at around 9:30am or so and then it was the crazy labor part :). But I pushed for only about 15min and there was my sweet Jack!
Born at 10:47am
On August 30th, 2011
weighing 7lbs 11oz
and 21 inches long

My Doctor was so great and I loved having the support of my mom, Mason's mom and Emily, and of course Mason. I am so happy and feel so lucky to have my healthy, sweet, adorable, baby boy here. Now enjoy some more pictures while I snuggle my Jack.

40 weeks and counting

So Jack's due date has come and gone. Its the waiting game now and I am so not good at it. I want to hold my sweet baby boy, I want to see what he looks like and know how big/little he is, I want to kiss his little cheeks, I want my baby in my arms and I am getting very impatient.
I am trying to just not think about it and hope labor kicks in but that is hard when I can't think of anything else. So I am just waiting and waiting for something to happen. Something that helps though is knowing I really am so close to holding this sweet little boy. So I guess all I can do is try and be patient and wait for this to all happen.

Sunset

We have a field of grass by our house. So a couple Sundays ago we laid out a blanket and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Max had fun throwing around his ball and getting thrown in the air by Mason. It was such a nice evening and we stayed and watched the sun set.

The Blues

Lately I feel so bad for being lazy and not taking Max outside more or to go do fun stuff. I am just at that point in my pregnancy where chasing around a one year old doesn't sound fun.

But I can't wait till I can run around with Max again and cuddle him close without a huge belly in my way.

So when Max was playing the Harmonica the other day(which he does quite well) I thought it was funny to think of him playing the blues. Especially since he was standing by the front door facing it while he played.

"I can't touch the playstation3...
I can't go outside...
I can't touch things I want to...
and I got a rash on my backside...
Oh I got the blues"

Nesting

This last week i have been really into getting things clean and organized for when Jack is born. And it is getting oh so close! I am now 34 weeks and 5 days along. We went out and got newborn pacifiers, diapers, wipes, and other little stuff we needed. I have mainly been crazy about keeping the upstairs clean since that is where I will be spending a lot of time with Jack. I have his crib all ready and changing area. I can't wait to meet my sweet little baby. He makes sure to let me know he is there, he is a little mover.

I love having tiny soft diapers again,
I can't wait to put them on his little bum.

Ben and Meggie's Reception

Ben and Meggie's reception was held in Ben's friends backyard, which was awesome and beautiful. People came and went and it was nice to see a few people I hadn't seen in a long time. The reception went from 5-8 so around 7 Max was very ready for dinner, and since they only had desserts(which were so very good) we left to go find some dinner. It was perfect timing because we left right when it started to rain. It took a little longer to find some food but we finally ended up eating at a pizza place with Emily and Colin, and Sarai. It was so good but by the time we finished dinner it was almost 9 and since we were my dad's ride back to our place we felt bad when we showed up and he was waiting on the church lawn. But we gave him our leftover pizza and all was forgiven :).
