The Woods come to Southern Cali

My sister Becky and her husband Shane came down last weekend with their three kids to finally meet Maximus and have some fun with us. It was so nice to finally see them again because I had not seen them since before Christmas. Jonah, Isaiah, and Analynn loved their cousin Max. They all just kept wanted to give him kisses, but it was a little much for Max he is not used to so many little crazy kids in his face, lol. but he did good. They got in really late Friday night and we went to Santa Monica Beach on Saturday, which turned out to be a beautiful day for the beach. It was fun to relax on the blankets with Mason and max and watch all the kids play while I took pictures. Then we headed back to our place to order Pizza and watch a movie. On Sunday we all just kinda hung out and took the kids down to the pool. Then it was time to say goodbye. It was a short trip for all of us but hopefully we will get to see them again soon.

Visiting Utah

Mason's parents decided to fly us out last weekend on Friday the 4th to see family and friends and indroduce Maximus to all of them. We got to the airport with plenty of time but I flight got delayed for an hour and a half. So instead of arriving in Utah at Max's fussy time we were just boarding the plane instead. he started to get fussy in line, then cried a bit when we first got on but slept the rest of the flight. So it ended up not being to bad I just felt so sad for him when he would get his big frown. We had a great time in Utah. Saturday we had a open house for Mason's moms friends and Mason's good friend cane with his wife and cute baby girl. It was fun to visit with people and they all gave us some really cute gifts. Max also met two of his cousins for the first time, Savannah and sienna. They loved him and wanted to hold him a lot. Then Emily took us down to Orem to see our good friends the ford's we also got to see Kyle who I had not seen for about 3 years! it was so nice to visit with them and we got to go and see Karlee and Lindsay's apartment in downtown Provo. Then after we were done there we headed back up to Sugar House to eat at Omar's Raw Food restaurant, with Ben, Meggie, my mom, Emily, Mason, Max, and me. on Sunday we headed up to Logan to see my aunt Ginny which was so nice to be up there and she has the cutest house. We had a late lunch and sat around the table and talked. We went back to Mason's parents and had a really nice dinner with them. On Monday we had a relaxing morning and went out to lunch with Mason's mom. Then I met Emily at the Gateway Mall with Max. We were in Old Navy when I saw a yellowish splat on the ground. My heart jumped because I was affraid Max had just thrown up. But I was relieved when I realized It was just a poop blow, I looked down and it was all down my pants. On top of that I had forgotten wipes...So Emily helped me wet paper towels and clean off max and change his clothes and all. Poor Max but he was so good through it all never complained once. That night we went out with Masons family to The Old Spaghetti Factory for Savannah's birthday. Then we had a lunch at Artic Circle Tuesday(also for Savannah) then we flew back home to California. the flight back was so nice because they let us bring Maximus' car seat on and he loved it and fell asleep for most of the flight. And now lots of pictures...

My Loves

Maximus laughed for the first time last night. Mason was singing a silly song to him and he let out his first giggles. I am so in love with those two handsome boys. I cant wait to hear those sweet giggles again.

Our 1 year Anniversary

It was Mason and mines 1 year anniversary last Sunday the 23rd. Since we have a 2 month old cute face, we decided to do a fun picnic in the park for lunch. We went and got take-out at this really yummy Vegan cafe called Juicy Ladies. I got a delicious "burger" and mason got and avocado and hummus wrap we also got some really good chocolate vegan brownies. It was so nice to just sit in the park and eat our lunch and talk. Max slept most of the time and then when he woke up we took some family pictures via self timer :). Then for dinner we made a special meal we had picked up at trader joe's the day before, we had cooked artichokes, tomato pesto flatbread, and mushroom turnovers. we ate dinner while watching the series finale of LOST. We then had our year old wedding cake, lemon poppy seed, it was still delicious. So it turned out to be a wonderful fun anniversary.

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband. Mason is so sweet and kind and thoughtful. He is an amazing father and Max loves him soooo much. This year of marriage has gone by so fast, but has been so eventful. I got pregnant, we went to Europe, we welcomed our baby boy into our family. I feel like Mason and I know each other so well. We have had some of the best adventures together. I love the feeling when he holds my hand and kisses my head. He took me to Disneyland for my first time and We lived in New York together for a year and had plenty of awesome adventures. Our nights sitting on the swings in riverside park and late dinners at the Tom's Diner. Movies at the theater on West 69th street. Walking through central park and discovering cool new areas. Seeing Hamlet in Shakespeare in the park. Late nights waiting for the Staten Island Ferry. I love my Mason so much, he truly is my best friend anywhere I go I want to be with him and share every experience together. I feel like we always have the best times together just laughing at stupid things and talking. I love that we got to add our little Maximus to our family and share our love with him. I look forward to the many more years together and adventures to come.

2 Months Old

My baby Maximus is already 2 months old. I know everyone says they can't believe it when there baby grows, and now I know how they feel. He has gotten so much bigger and more into toys like rings he can shake. He has always been very alert but he looks more intrigued by things now.

Here are some things Max loves at 2 months:
-skin to skin with daddy
-his bouncer chair and babbling to the dangling toys.
-cuddling with mommy
-daddy walking around with him over his shoulder
-being on his changing table
-looking at his sailboat picture
-getting A&D rubbed on his bum
-bath time

Here are some new things Max has started doing:

-putting his fists in his mouth
-smiling and talking a lot
-holding onto toys and kinda shaking them
-turning on his side
-sleeping on his side with his head at far back as it will go(this looks funny)
-getting a bit better with his head control

I love my little Maximus and watching his cute personality come out.He does the cutest things and melts my heart every time he smiles at me, it makes me want to just squeeze him! I feel so lucky to have him.
I love you my sweetheart.

Matt & Emily's Wedding

Mason and I were planning on going to his cousin Matt's wedding but then we got the news that his mom and grandma were sick and we were planning on going to his grandparents as a halfway point down to the wedding in Carlsbad, CA. Because we didn't want little Max getting sick we decided against going to his grandparents for the night. We were debating on even going to the wedding since it would be a 2 1/2 hour drive with Max and with maybe sick people there. So Saturday morning we were thinking of not going, then last minute we decided to try it. so we quickly packed up and got ready and headed out. Max ended up being very good on the car ride down and it was so nice to see everyone. we got a picture of the four generations with Max, that was really neat. And one with all 5 M.C.M's. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it but Matt and Emily's wedding photographer did so hopefully we can get a copy. I am sad we didn't get to talk to the happy couple because we were visiting with people outside and before we knew it they were off on their honeymoon. Afterwards we went with Masons family back to his grandparents(I guess it wouldn't have hurt to go there in the first place) and spent the night there and headed home on Sunday. So it ended up being a nice weekend being able to see family and show them Max for the first time.We didn't get any pictures of Matt and Emily but plenty of Maximus :)
