Haircuts for my boys

 I, in no way, claim to be a great hairdresser. But I have never thought it was worth it to take my boys to a real Barber, one day maybe but for now they have no say :). I do have fun doing it and was pretty proud for not botching Jack's hair, just going at it with no real plan. I have been cutting Mason's hair for about 5 years now and besides the first few times(sorry Mase, for the horrible strait across Beatles looking cut) I have learned how to cut it. His is easy though because it is naturally curly so what ever cut I do it falls so very nicely.
I decided to try and buzz Max's hair on the longest setting to make it all even, since the last time I cut it it was a little all over the place with the length. He was a little nervous about a buzzing thing on his head but after I started he was giggling and asking when I was going to be done, ha.
They both turned out pretty good, if I may say so my self. And I gotta say it is fun to pretend that I know what I'm doing.

Fourth of July

We had one of the best fourth of July's this year. We spent the day with Mason's mom, dad, and sister Tresa. We started out the day at the Murray City Parade, Mason's parents ran the 5K before the parade and had saved a spot for us all the watch it. They put on a really good parade with lots of candy throwing(Max and Jack's favorite part). They also had a little fair with blow up slides and bounce houses, we let Max and Jack go in the big Tiger bounce house before we left, to have a late breakfast/early lunch at Denny's.
After we all got some nice naps at Mason's parents we headed to The Gateway to see Despicable Me 2. Both kids were awesome sitting through the whole movie, popcorn and candy helped as distractions :).  After the movie Max was so excited to show Grandma and Grandpa the "Planet Store"(Clark Planetarium). We ended our day out at Coachman's, eating some good comfort food.
To finish off our awesome fourth we did some fireworks and sparklers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Canada Day

I think my husband said it best:
Canada Day: a day where they courageously, and politely, enacted the British North American Act. Where they cried with one heart and mind "LET FREEDOM RING BY BEING PASSED THROUGH THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS"

In all seriousness, I am very proud to be married to a Canadian and to have half Canadian children. HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Being Canadian I couldn't go without celebrating Canada Day. And since my kids are half Canadian they need to learn about the cool country their mommy comes from :).
So for July 1st we invited Mason's family over for a Canada day BBQ. It turned out really fun and the kids had a blast. I just need to get a Canadian flag for next year to proudly hang.
Miss you Canada, my home land.

{Jack fell back in his chair and hit his head so I gave him some frozen mango's to put on his head, he thought it was pretty cool}
